Winona’s journey to becoming the Director of Project Management at Next Gen Campaigns is a testament to her profound ability to manage complex projects with a focus on equity, educational outcomes, and the intersection of technology with societal progress. Winona joined Next Gen Campaigns following a transformative tenure as Vice President of Programs at Educational Results Partnership. There, she was instrumental in launching the Equity Intelligence Platform and overseeing the annual updates for the California Community Colleges LaunchBoard. Her approach to project management—characterized by meticulous sprint planning, work breakdown, and milestone tracking—has been pivotal in bringing ambitious projects from conception to successful closure. Her expertise is not just in managing projects but in nurturing the growth and development of her teams. At Educational Results Partnership, Winona led her team of project managers to new professional heights, fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement. Her ability to communicate complex project scopes, timelines, and contingency plans clearly and effectively made her an invaluable technical point of escalation for resolving development challenges. Winona’s career also includes a significant chapter at Google, Inc., where she served as a Trust & Safety Program Manager. Her leadership in policy enforcement impacted over a billion users, focusing on operational excellence, change management, and algorithmic fairness. Winona’s strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration skills were crucial in redefining operational KPIs and refreshing operations for content review teams globally. Beyond her impressive professional accomplishments, Winona has dedicated herself to mentoring and volunteering, influencing the next generation of leaders in both technology and education. Her involvement with the US Navy TacComm One Family Readiness Group, San Diego Natural History Museum, and mentorship roles through iMentor and Spark Mentor highlight her commitment to community and education. Winona holds a BS in Environmental Economics & Policy from the University of California, Berkeley, and has furthered her expertise with a Stanford Advanced Project Management Certification. Her educational background, combined with her experience in strategic planning, stakeholder management, and project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Kanban, Sprints), make her an exceptional leader for our Project Management division.
